Lucinda van Rensburg - Managing Director

Qualifications:
BLC, LLB, DIP IR, LLM (LL), LLM (Gen)
Background:
Lucinda obtained her BLC and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria. She also holds a Diploma in Industrial Relations (cum laude) and a Masters degree in Labour Law (UP). Lucinda also received a Master’s degree (LLM) General (cum laude), focusing on National and International Environmental Law, Specific Contracts and Constitutional Law. Lucinda was an admitted attorney, conveyancer and notary of the Supreme Court. Her work experience includes four years in private practice and four years in the corporate industry acting as Legal Advisor for a major medical information technology corporate.
Expertise:
She is a member of the Professional Speaker’s Association of South Africa and an accredited assessor. Lucinda worked as Technical Manager: Legal Services, at NOSA for four years, before she founded Implex Legal Compliance Solutions in 2005 together with Robert Steyn and Chan Naidoo. At Implex she is responsible for developing strategic and tailored legal compliance solutions for a diverse sector of clients, on national and global level. Lucinda manages and facilitates training and training development at Implex and is regularly invited to speak at public conferences, seminars and events on issues relating to safety, health, and environmental, labour and related law.

Robert Steyn - Director Operations

Qualifications:
B.Proc
Background:
Robert obtained a B. Proc degree from the University of Potchefstroom. His work experience includes Articles of Clerkship and six years as assessor for Rand Mutual, specializing in the mining sector. Robert joined NOSA as a legal consultant in 2003 and was involved in consulting on the legal issues of occupational safety and health in the industrial and mining sectors.
Expertise:
Robert is one of the founding members of Implex, and he specialises in legal registers; legal compliance audits; legal consulting; legal training; and system implementation and in both mining and industrial sectors. Robert also spearheads the Implex and eKuluma Vuka Vusa training project, and has completed a Learning Programme on Effective Speaking and Presentations.

Tasneem Khan - Director Legal Services

Qualifications:
LLB
Background:
Tasneem obtained an LLB degree from the University of Potchefstroom in 2001, and finishing her Articles of Clerkship in 2004, Tasneem joined NOSA as a legal consultant and was involved in safety, health and environmental legal compliance audits, legal registers and training. As Professional Assistant she then joined Cameron Cross Attorneys. Her portfolio included various issues pertaining to environmental, health and safety law, including auditing, opinion writing and litigation for clients predominantly in the industrial and mining sectors.
Expertise:
Tasneem joined Implex in 2006; her responsibilities include legal compliance consulting, training and auditing. Tasneem also heads the legal register department and associated services. She is a member of the Environmental Law Association of South Africa, and is an accredited assessor.

Bridget Hughes - Consulting Manager

Qualifications:
Masters Environmental Management, HDE
Background:
Bridget has extensive experience over 14 years in environmental research, environmental auditing and safety, health and environmental (SH&E) consulting. Her work has taken her throughout South and southern Africa, Australia and South America. Specifically, Bridget has been a project manager in the successful implementation of a range of management systems both nationally and internationally. Bridget is also a member of the Environmental Law Association of South Africa.
Expertise:
Bridget’s core expertise lies in the management of, and participation in, SH&E system development and implementation in accordance with internationally recognised management system standards as well as the planning, development and implementation of integrated management systems. In addition she has specific skills in the development and facilitation of customised SH&E and risk management training and awareness programmes. Bridget is currently completing an Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety through Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. Bridget joined Implex in 2008. Her responsibilities include legal compliance and management system consulting, training, auditing, and management system development and implementation, nationally as well as internationally.

Johan C. Lamprecht - Risk Manager

Qualifications:

Background:
Johan has a National Higher Diploma Mechanical Engineering from the Technikon Pretoria. His work experience includes five years as a Principle Inspector with the Occupational Health and Safety section of the Department of Labour administering the OHS Act. He also performed incident investigations with the purpose of recommending prosecution in case of legal non-conformance. From the Department of Labour, Johan moved to HASLAC (Health and Safety Legal Audit Consultants) as a senior consultant. He was involved in consulting on health and safety legislative, as well as with training, development of course material and numerous legal compliance audits. He was also responsible for the development of the computerized version of the HASLAC OHS Act implementation system. In 2001 Johan joined NOSA, where he worked for four years in the Legal Services Department. He was involved in the development and compilation of legal registers, conducting legal compliance audits and consultation. He successfully completed the NQ
Expertise:
Johan was appointed as Risk Manager for Superway Construction in April 2005. His functions included the national SH&E component as well as all corporate risk including issues such as corporate litigation and insurance risk management. Johan joined Implex in February 2010 as Risk Manager. His responsibilities include legal compliance consulting, training, auditing, system implementation and development.

Marlize de Jager - Legal Administrator

Qualifications:
B.Proc
Background:
Marlize obtained her B.Proc degree (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria, in 1997. She completed her articles of clerkship at Lombard, Muller & Partners, in Pretoria. Marlize was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer of the Supreme Court in 2000 and as a notary in 2004. She worked as a conveyancer at Savage Jooste & Adams Attorneys, thereafter at Coetzer de Beer Attorneys, and at Tim du Toit Attorneys before she joined Implex in 2009.
Expertise:
Marlize is an accredited Assessor NQF Level 5 and Moderator NQF Level 6, at Implex her responsibilities including administrating the Legal Register, maintaining the legislative data base, compiling and circulating newsletters and writing legal opinion.

Bernadine Vermeulen - Training Administrator

Qualifications:
Assessor NQF Level 5; Moderator NQF Level 6; Design & development outcomes based learning material training programme and assessment design training NQF Level 6.
Background:
Bernadine’s work experience includes two years as a training administrator at NOSA before she joined Implex in 2005.
Expertise:
Bernadine’s responsibilities include implementing a training quality management system and programme. She is also responsible for programme design and material development, in coordination with our subject matter specialists, and for subsequent alignment and submission for accreditation. Bernadine is also responsible for assisting clients with development of Workplace Skills Plans and Workplace Skills Implementation Plans.

Johan Lamprecht - IT Specialist

Qualifications:
IT Specialist
Background:
Johan initially joined Implex on a retainer basis in 2007. Johan at the time was a sole proprietor working as Frostnet where he provided networking solutions including hosting, VPN and related services and support. Johan is responsible for managing the Implex internal computer network, information technology support, and also managing the Implex external hosting services for client legal registers.
Expertise:
In 2009 Johan joined Implex on a full time basis, where he now manages all Information Technology requirements for Implex. This includes installation of and training on legal registers, legal register first level support, hosting solutions for client legal registers, new product development, and managing the Implex internal computer network system.

Amelia Steyn - Training Coordinator

Qualifications:
Amelia is scheduled to complete the NQF Support Link Programme; the respective modules in this programme are on NQF Levels 5, 6 & 7.
Background:
Amelia has extensive experience in sales and marketing spanning over 12 years. During this time she worked at NOSA as Business Development Officer in the Marketing Department where her responsibilities included the marketing, development and selling of the Safety Management publication, in addition she was involved in planning, marketing and coordinating for NOSHCON, an annual conference hosted by NOSA. Amelia then joined Solidarity’s media department where she worked as Advertising Manager for marketing, development and sales for the Solidarity magazine. She was also responsible for all the planning, sponsorships and exhibitors for the Solidarity Annual Congress.
Expertise:
At Implex she is responsible for training sales and marketing, coordinating training courses and venues, maintaining the training register, client liaison and the issuance of certificates.
